30 Years ago Today (October First) The Compact Disk went on sale for the first time
While today Compact Disks (CD's) seem like a relic, back in 1982 they changed the way we listen to music. Here is a great article on the history of the CD and how it was developed.

I had no idea CDs were so old! I was still using 8-tracks in 1982.
