CandidRadio w/Zman & Littleflurry, what happens when 2 creatively outspoken liberals try to find their way in an uptight ultra-conservative town located in rural IL. Think small town with a church every other block meets George Carlin but with more jokes.

A Great Response to those who want to boycott Oreo Cookies for their support of Gay Rights
Posted by Zman
Don't know who wrote this but it is a very well written response to those anti gay boycott obsessed homophobes who are threatening to boycott Oreo cookies due to their support of gay rights.
"Yes, please boycott Oreo for their support of Gay Rights. We’ll all appreciate you going on a diet. While you’re at it, please also throw away your iPod, iPhone, and iPad since Apple supports as well. Hopefully you have lots of clothes, because you’ll need to ditch your Levi’s and Nike’s too. Perhaps you bought them at JC Penney’s or Sears? Sucks you’ll have to take them back or actually, anything you wear from anywhere probably had a gay involved. Flying somewhere soon? Better not be on American, Delta, Southwest, or United - you’ll need a new ticket. Airline wasn’t mentioned? Just be sure your jet isn’t Boeing made. Don’t sleep at Marriott or Hilton (or any of their family brands) because you might catch the gays they support. That morning coffee from Starbucks will have to go as well, go ahead and replace it with a McCafe. Oh wait, McDonald’s supports gay rights too. Hmm, do you clean with Tide, Gain, or Bounty? Use Duracell batteries, shave with Gillette, or use Fixodent? Brush with Crest, use Pantene, Scope, Tampax, Venus, or Old Spice products? Those are all gone too, stupid Proctor & Gamble supporting the gays. Damn, you’re using Internet Explorer or Chrome to see Facebook and read this status? Download something else, Microsoft and Google show their Pride as well. Ah, but your drinks are safe. Coca-Cola, Pepsi, and Budweiser are on your side - if your side is on the right side of history since all three also support Gay Rights. Hopefully, you or your lawyer will never need in-depth research. Both LexisNexis and Westlaw, who together control the market, support Gay Rights. Drive that big, manly, Ford F350? It’s a "Friend of Dorothy" too, as its company Ford and General Motors also support the rights of all. So, do us all a favor, don’t take it all out on a festive cookie - just stay home and boycott everything." (Unknown)
I wish we knew who wrote this because it sums it up quite well.

I'm Farming & I Grow It. (music video parody of I'm sexy and I Know It)
I saw a portion of this on the WGN TV news this morning and I found the whole song. It is pretty funny.

Back in my day, The Cave Man version
Posted by Zman
If you read some peoples posts on Facebook or even hear them talk you'd get the impression that back in "their day" all kids were beaten with belts when they misbehaved, no kid was allowed indoors during daylight hours, All moms voices could be heard for miles and miles calling their kids to come home at night, and all kids were very well behaved and no one ever dissagreed with their parents. Seems to me that some people view the past with selective memory. It got me to thinking how would a caveman write a back in my day story. Here's how I think it wold go.
You know kids have it so good today, back in my day we didn't have these new fangeld housed, we lived in caves and if the wind was blowing in you just got cold we din't need any freaking doors. and food, we couldn't just get in the car and go to the store, we had to kill our food with a spear and if you're aim was bad you just went hungry. If you wanted to go out with the girl in the cave next door you just went to her cave and conked her in the head and drug her away. We didn't have to bother with the formality of asking her out. and if you got sick you could not go to the doctor, you either got better or just dropped dead eventually and we liked it that way. Words, all we could do was grunt and snort. If you wanted to talk to the cave village down the road, we didn't have no fancy smancy can and string, you sent smoke signals and hoped the wind was out of the right direction. Things were so much better back then. Kids today have i9t so easy.
See how silly those back in my day stories are. The fact is the stuff in those back in my day posts are pretty far from the way things actually were. As we get older we tend to remember the past the way we wish it had been and not the way it really was.

Why do stores insist on having their over head music so loud
Posted by Zman
I don't know about you but one thing that irks me is when you walk in to a store or restaurant and they have the music so loud you can't hear yourself think. My wife went in to our local Staples and Menards on Tuesday and both paces had the music so loud my wife and I had to keep asking each other what the other one said and we were walking right next to each other. I wonder if businesses realize how annoying that is to their customers. Same goes for restaurants I can't tell you how many times we have gone out to eat and the music is so loud it is impossible to carry on a conversation and if you're out with a group, forget about hearing anyone else at the table. Also makes it hard to enjoy your meal when you have music blaring in your ear. Now I like loud music as much as the next person but when I'm out and I think most people will agree, music should be back ground. It should add to the experience not be so loud that you have to yell at the person next to you so they can hear you.
